Lucent Technologies Criterium

The Valley Spokesmen Racing Team and Lucent Technologies will be hosting a series of bike races on Saturday, July 15th. The races will start and finish in front of the Lucent building in Hacienda, 4464 Willow Road.  The course progresses around the block adjacent to Thomas S. Hart Middle School.

Event Description
The Lucent Technologies Criterium is a closed .75 mile flat loop with four right turns. The event will use the free lap rule, no neutral support.  Cyclists should provide their own equipment and all riders must wear helmets on and off the course. Race times are as follows:

8:00 am Juniors 15-16 / 17-18
8:45 am Senior 4/5
9:40 am Women 1/2/3
10:40 am Master 45+ / 55+
11:35 am Kids 8-12
11:39 am Kida 13-14
12:05 pm Senior 3/4
1:05 pm Tandems
2:00 pm Senior Pro 1/2/3

Special Childrens Race
One of the event features is a free race for children ages 8-14.  Participants will be seperated by ages. All types of two-wheeled bikes are allowed for this race. Parents will be required to sign a participation waiver and all children will receive a prize for participating.

Pre-register and receive a bag of bagels complements of Bay Star Baking Company. Registration opens at 7:00 am and closes 15 minutes prior to each race. On-line registration is available at  www.vsrt.net/lucent2000.html.
