  • Documentum has scheduled its second worldwide user conference and exhibition, Momentum '97, for October 22-25 in San Diego. The event will highlight the value that companies derive from enterprise document management in both im proving quality and accelerating time to market. An appearance by Jay Leno is scheduled as part of the event. 
  • Vanstar Corporation will open a new Technical Solution Center in Tempe, Arizona in October. The facility will provide "single-point-of contact" support and Help Desk services to assist local customers, which include Motorola, Phoenix Newspapers, Allied Signal and Samaritan Health Systems. 
  • Kronos Incorporated is a platinum sponsor of the American Payroll Association's National Payroll Week, September 15-19. 
  • PeopleSoft, Inc. and ADP, the leading worldwide company for payroll and human resource services, have formed a strategic pan-European development and marketing alliance for the payroll and human resources market. The companies will work together to develop and market a new range of payroll software products for large and multinational enter prises. 
  • The Pleasanton Business Technology Showcase, "Connect with Tomorrow," takes place September 24-26 at the Alameda County Fairgrounds. With industry seminars and hands-on exhibits from technology giants, the event promises a view of the future of both technology and the Tri-Valley business landscape. A host of giveaways include Pentium computers, $50 savings bonds, cellular phones, and more. The program includes a Career Expo on September 25.   • Hacienda West, at 3825 and 3875 Hopyard Road, has been awarded first place for excellence in ongoing maintenance of turf and ornamental landscape by the Northern California Turf & Landscape Council. The project also received the Judges' Special Award for use of color in small gardens.
