Looking to Contribute to the Community? Join the Human Race

After a one year absence, the Human Race returns to Hacienda on Saturday, May 9, 1999. This year, the popular 10K and 5K sanctioned run and walk will be joined by a one-mile Family program.

In previous years, the event has attracted more than 1,000 participants, including 15 corporate teams.

The event supports the Volunteer Center of Alameda County, which serves as a resource clearinghouse for a variety of local non-profits.

"The Human Race is an opportunity for the entire community to help the more than 600 non-profit service organizations in Alameda County in a pledge-drive fundraiser," says Teri Tith, Human Race coordinator.

Sponsorships Galore

A variety of sponsorship opportunities are available as part of the event.

Packages may include a variety of benefits such as the sponsor's name on event posters, t-shirts, banners, press releases, advertising, and more. Each participating company will also receive a number of Human Race t-shirts.

The deadline for sponsors to be included on the event poster is February 1. Call Tith for more details.

Other Ways to Participate

Besides becoming a sponsor, there are many other ways to contribute to the Human Race.

Individuals can form teams within their companies, and even adopt a specific non-profit organization to receive their pledges.

Companies can also contribute by requesting Human Race posters to display on premises.
