The Hacienda Owners Association and PeopleSoft each received 1999 Clean Air ENVY Awards from the American Lung Association of the Bay Area. The Association received the award for Outstanding Commute Alternative Program, while PeopleSoft received the Telecommuting reward for providing work at home offices/telecommuting options for over 50 percent of their employees.
Individual Software has recently signed an additional list of career web sites for its ResumeMaker Deluxe Edition. The new sites include HotJobs, CareerCity, Career.com, CareerExchange, CarrerMart, Computerwork, and NationJob network. ResumeMaker allows users to perform comprehensive job searches on the Internet.
Non-voting common stock in McCormick & Co., Inc. began trading recently on the New York Stock Exchange, under ticker symbol "MKC." The company's shares had traded on NASDAQ under the symbol MCCRK. Founded in 1889, McCormick is the world's largest spice company.
In a Robert Half International poll of chief financial officers (CFOs), respondents indicated that they expect issues outside of traditional accounting functions to occupy more than a third of a senior accountant's time five years from now.

"Increasingly, accountants are helping senior management pursue revenue enhancement opportunities such as global expansion and the introduction of new business lines, among many other strategic initiatives," said Max Messmer, chairman and CEO of RHI.
The boards of directors of Georgia-Pacific Corp. and Unisource Worldwide Inc. have approved a definitive merger agreement under which Georgia-Pacific will acquire all existing shares of Unisource for $12 per share in cash. After the merger, Unisource will operate under its existing name as a separate distribution subsidiary of Georgia-Pacific.
