  • Bivio Networks

    Bivio Networks, formerly known as Network Robots, placed eight Bivio 1000 devices in beta trials with eight customers earlier this month. Their first product, the Bivio 1000 is a programmable networking device that will do the work of routers, firewall boxes, VPN boxes, and more. The company claims their patent-pending device reduces capital and operational expenditure costs by two-thirds by combining the best qualities of a high performance computer and a gigabit-speed network device into an integrated platform.

  • Brookfield Homes

    Brookfield Homes is opening the first model homes in its new community, Madison, in March. The San Jose development of executive single family homes, built in the Evergreen area, range from 3,207 to 3,815 square feet. Brookfield Homes ranks among the 20 largest homebuilders in the US and has several other developments in the area, including Chantemar at Dublin Ranch and Shadow Lakes in Brentwood. The company is a subsidiary of Brookfield Properties, a commercial real estate company with over $8 billion in holdings.

  • PeopleSoft

    PeopleSoft's On Campus program, which donates PeopleSoft applications software to colleges and universities for integration into their curricula, has passed the landmark $25 million mark in software grants. Started in 1999, the program benefits schools both in the U.S. and abroad.

    "Our customers and industry partners are looking for graduates with PeopleSoft experience," said Kevin Horigan, general manager of Education and Government for PeopleSoft. "By participating in the On Campus program and integrating PeopleSoft applications into their curriculum, our academic partners are providing their students with valuable experience and highly marketable skills."

  • Tanner Companies

    Tanner Companies LLC was recognized as the largest property/casualty insurance brokerage in the East Bay by the East Bay Business Times. The ranking was based on $240 million in premiums in 2001. The company specializes in commercial insurance for the manufacturing, real estate, retail, and technology industries.

  • Accountemps

    A recent survey conducted by Accountemps, a subsidiary of Robert Half International, showed that 42 percent of executives would first approach their spouse or significant other when considering a job change. Mentors were second on the list at 28 percent, followed by co-workers and friends at 13 and 11 percent, respectively.
