Local Community College District Offers Customized Training Solutions for Business

In a competitive business environment, continued training is a great way to provide a business with the additional skills and information it needs to excel. That's precisely the aim of Training and Development Solutions (TDS), the contract services division of the Chabot-Las Positas Community College District.

"We provide organizations with customized on-site employee training and productivity improvement consultations," says Leslie Larrabee, dean of Economic Development and Contract Education.

TDS offers a number of advantages to its customers. TDS will work with companies to provide cost-effective custom solutions, which apply to their individual business performance needs, ranging from basic skills such as math, business writing, and English as a Second Language to specific job-related areas. TDS can even provide ISO 9001 certification.

"Everything that we do is customized, so we're as flexible as you need us to be," says Larrabee. "When we and our client mutually determine that training is the solution that is required to solve the business issue at hand, the curriculum is customized to the organization's learning objectives. We are also able to customize the length that the client needs the program and when and where it takes place. Most of our training takes place on-site at the client's, but we do have computer labs and a multi-purpose room available for off-site training delivery."

TDS has worked with East Bay businesses for over a decade and has taught classes on a wide variety of subjects, including Conflict Resolution, Customer Service, Diversity: Managing and Valuing Difference, First Line Supervision Skills, Goal Setting, High Performance Teams, Interpersonal Communications Skills, Leadership Development, Managing Change, Meeting Management, Strategic Planning, Stress Management, Team Decision Making and Problem Solving, Time Management, and Vision, Mission, and Values Statements.

Their list of satisfied customers is lengthy and impressive: Pepsico, County of Alameda, Lawrence Livermore National Lab, City of Dublin, Shea Homes, Kaiser Permanente, Roche Molecular Systems, and the Federal Correction Institute are just some of the organizations that have benefited from TDS performance improvement solutions.
