  • Sub-One Technology

    Sub-One Technology, the developer of a patented new technology which can be used to coat the interior surfaces of pipes, received $7 million in a Series B round of funding. Advanced Technology Ventures (ATV) led the round, with current investors Chevron Technology Ventures and ITI Energy also participating. Sub-One will use the financing for product development efforts, further advancing its InnerArmor technology. "There are approximately 2.1 million miles of pipelines in the U.S. alone, transporting natural gas, crude oil, petroleum and other products," said Wes Raffel, general partner of ATV. "Sub-One's unique technology shows tremendous market opportunity because it can be applied to a wide variety of industries and will show tremendous return-on-investment."

  • Ingenico

    The Nilson Report, the U.S. benchmark publication for the global electronic payment industry, has named Ingenico as the world's top payment terminal vendor for the sixth straight year. According to the Report's analysts, Ingenico delivered 2.2 million payment terminals worldwide in 2005, accounting for 25 percent of global shipments. Ingenico, whose software division is located in Hacienda, was also ranked number one in four of the six world regions covered by the Nilson Report: Europe, Latin America, Canada and the Middle East and Africa region.

  • Visioneer, Inc.

    Visioneer, Inc., has introduced the Visioneer RoadWarrior, a mobile scanner for handling the document needs of the business traveler. "Today's road warriors demand that every item in their bag do double or triple duty and it needs to integrate with their existing tools," says John Capurso, vice president of marketing at Visioneer. "We designed the RoadWarrior to handle business cards, receipts, expense reports and business documents; as well as provide search and retrieval of all files on your PC." The RoadWarrior, based on Visioneer's award-winning Strobe design, measures only 2 by 1.5 by 11.4 inches and weighs just 10 ounces.

  • Hacienda Companies Support PPIE

    Thanks to contributions from Hacienda companies such as ADP, Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream, Gatan Incorporated, Oracle, Robert Half International, and Washington Mutual, the Pleasanton Partnerships in Education Foundation (PPIE) was able to raise nearly $80,000 for Pleasanton schools at their recent fundraiser, "Bon Appetit - A Star Studded Culinary Affaire." Proceeds will assist in funding programs PPIE facilitates at various school sites and and to fill grants submitted by students and teachers of the Pleasanton Unified School District.
