ATI Architects and Engineers Strives to Create Warm Spaces That Invite and Welcome

Architecture is a blend of art and science which when combined with design, produces innovative buildings.

Hacienda-based ATI Architects and Engineers blends all those aspects into creating institutional, industrial, commercial, and civic projects.

Founded in 1989, ATI is a full-service design and construction company that provides a wide-range of offerings from feasibility studies, master planning, and programming, complete design and engineering, and construction support services. The synergy of their multi-disciplinary firm results in effectiveness and efficiency.

Their history includes innovation with LEED AP, an advanced knowledge in green building, as well as expertise in building design and construction. ATI's growing Energy Consulting and Sustainability design practice comprises industrial, commercial, college and university, K-12 schools, healthcare, government, hospitality, retail, biopharmaceutical, telecommunications, high tech, power, and research and development facilities.

"We believe that Sustainable/Green design is no longer on the fringes of the construction industry but an integrated way of providing efficient, healthy, and relevant design and engineering services. This is done from basic requirements to comply with the new building code regulations to providing Zero Net Energy design solutions," said Paul DiDonato, CEO, and President of ATI.

With a staff of over 70 employees company wide, including 21 architects, 12 engineers, designers, drafters, and support staff, the majority of their clients are located in California, but they work in many other states throughout the US as well. At the same time, they are recognized internationally as one of the top industrial/cold storage architects.

Currently, ATI is working with Direct Relief on their new warehouse and headquarters in Santa Barbara, California. Direct Relief is a non-profit organization that brings life-saving medical aid to people affected by poverty and emergencies in the US and worldwide. ATI is also working with a manufacturing company based in Germany that is expanding their capabilities in the Tri-Valley.

ATI has also been honored for the work they do for their clients and communities. ATI has been recognized seven times as the Fastest Growing Private Company in the East Bay by San Francisco Business Times, in addition to other reputable organizations such as Engineering News Record (ENR) and Zweig Group. Most recently they were honored with being ranked as No. 29 on the Top 50 Bay Area Architecture Firms and No. 86 on the Leading Private Companies in the East Bay's lists by San Francisco Business Times.

ATI feels strongly about their commitment to the community. "We live and work in the communities we serve with three offices throughout California and our headquarters based in Hacienda. You can see our footprint in many parts of the East Bay/Tri-Valley. We have a long history working with the City of Pleasanton, City of San Ramon, San Ramon Valley USD, CSU East Bay, and many other local private, public, and federal organizations. Our most recent project in the Tri-Valley was the renovation of the San Ramon Library, which opened in April," said DiDonato.

Being located in Hacienda has made it easier for ATI to do their job. "We are excited to be in our new space and to be a part of the Hacienda community. The location, proximity to our clients, easy accessibility to BART, and other amenities provides great support for our staff as well as a great opportunity for recruiting new and talented individuals," said DiDonato.
