Leisure Sports Hospitality Creates Resort-Style Fitness Experiences

Leisure Sports Hospitality is the corporate office for ClubSport, Renaissance ClubSport, and The Studio fitness clubs. From its headquarters in Hacienda, the company manages seven clubs and two hotels, the Renaissance ClubSport hotels in Walnut Creek and Aliso Viejo, California.

As the developer and operator of multipurpose athletic clubs and four-diamond hotels that include fitness resorts, Leisure Sports takes pride in providing premier fitness facilities that support healthy lifestyles for both individuals and families.

"Our mission is to provide fitness clubs and hotels that offer world-class service, impeccably clean facilities, innovative sports and fitness programs, and contemporary hotel accommodations in a resort-style environment where members and guests can enjoy their travel and achieve their health and fitness goals," says Ralph Rajs, Executive Vice President, who has been with the company for 28 years.

Leisure Sports is a home-grown success as a Pleasanton company that started with a single local fitness facility. Part of its success comes from placing customer satisfaction at the core of its offerings. While many hotels treat fitness facilities as an afterthought, the Renaissance ClubSport hotels give guests membership privileges to lavish, resort-like fitness facilities that make working out its own kind of vacation.

"There are some really interesting efficiencies that can happen as one business," notes Rajs, who says that the hospitality and fitness facilities complement each other well.

The company's stand-alone fitness clubs also focus on customer satisfaction. "We try to create a custom experience for each customer, to support how they want to use the club not how we think they should use the club," says Rajs.

Some may assume that membership to Pleasanton's ClubSport is expensive. Not true, according to the company. ClubSport is competitively priced and offers many more amenities than boutique studios that offer only a single specialty.

Those resort-style amenities include a full-service day spa, yoga and pilates, circuit and resistance training programs, tennis and other court sports, aquatics, personal and group training programs, and more. ClubSport wants all of its members to feel engaged, from intense young athletes to members with young families. That is why a family membership at ClubSport includes child-focused activities, family activities such as movie nights, and childcare for parents during their workouts or spa treatments.

Corporate wellness executives can also call on ClubSport as a resource. ClubSport can offer a day-long fitness program, a one-off class, and much more. "We can customize a wellness program for any corporate need," says Rajs.

About 24 employees work at the Leisure Sports headquarters in Hacienda. The company moved to Hacienda in July 2015 for the office space, convenience to transportation, and proximity to its ClubSport Pleasanton fitness club.

The company strongly supports giving back to the community and is a title sponsor of the Pleasanton Partnerships in Education Foundation annual run. It also holds annual food drives for Second Harvest and the One Warm Coat community project.

In 2018 it is also fundraising to help send children to Camp Hemotion, a residential summer camp for young people. Organized by the Hemophilia Foundation of Northern California, about 100 youth living with bleeding disorders, known carriers, or their siblings can attend this week-long camp each year.
