Sunvalley Solar Brings Clean Energy to Commercial Clients

Sunvalley Solar Inc. provides clients with reliable and independent energy sources with innovative solutions, cost-effective processes, and unparalleled customer service, according to the company. In every project, Sunvalley puts the customer's investment and profit first.

"The mission of Sunvalley Solar Inc. is to promote the economical use of clean energy," says Benjamin Schams, Sunvalley Solar Vice President. "What makes us unique is our customer service, and the level of attention we give to each individual client."

For 12 years, Sunvalley Solar has specialized in commercial and agricultural clients. It is one of the few solar providers devoted to serving business owners and farmers by installing and maintaining solar panel energy production systems.

Sunvalley Solar can also help clients with financing by connecting them to available governmental incentives, including tax benefits, rebates, and third-party lease programs. Many California clients can deduct up to 60% of their initial investment thanks to incentives. The company offers clients a product warranty, a workmanship warranty, and an energy production guarantee on the systems it installs so clients can clearly calculate expected benefits.

"There is a clear, compelling economic reason to use solar," says Schams. "Beyond that, using a clean energy source often reflects the values of many businesses in our area."

Despite the benefits, a lot of people do not understand the value proposition of solar and the various ways that financing can be tailored to their specific needs, according to Schams. Others may not understand how commercial solar actually functions.

"We are basically installing a power plant on the owner's property," notes Schams.

During daylight hours, most solar systems generate more electricity than their owners need. As Sunvalley Solar explains, any excess electricity is sent back to the utility grid, which gives the solar system owner credit for the excess electricity.

At night or other times when more electricity is needed than that provided by the solar system, the owner draws on electricity from the utility grid. The utility then bills the owner for the owner's "net" energy consumption, which is based on the difference between the owner's overall solar energy production and energy consumption.

Because of this "net energy metering" system, many clients are able to dramatically cut their monthly electricity costs. Thanks to the lower energy costs and incentive programs, some clients recover their financial investment on a 25-year Sunvalley Solar system as early as the fifth year.

One less-known benefit of solar panels on rooftops is that they help keep buildings cooler. "There's an air gap between the solar panel and the rooftop," notes Schams. The "convective cooling" from solar panel shade can actually reduce a company's air conditioning requirements.

One point of pride for Sunvalley Solar is the attention it places on helping clients consider the aesthetic aspects of a planned solar energy installation. As each installation is meant to last for a long time, "we sit down with the customer and really make sure they will get something they are going to like," says Schams.

The Hacienda branch office of Sunvalley Solar has a total of 12 employees. They serve California clients from Bakersfield in the Central Valley all the way north to the Oregon border. When it comes to the office's Hacienda location, "we really like the business district and the area's good business opportunities," says Schams.

Schams encourages people to reach out to his company "even if they are just window shoppers or curious about solar energy. Give us a call. You won't be wasting our time."
