Tradesman International Offers Skilled Staffing for Construction

Last year, 80% of 2,500 contractors surveyed reported difficulty in hiring qualified workers, according to Engineering News-Record. As this article is written, there is a shortage within the US trades and construction industry of approximately 2 million workers. Tradesmen International is a staffing business that helps projects nationwide get done on time and under budget. It does this by providing more than 15,000 tradespeople to clients across the country every single day.

"Our mission is to maximize workforce productivity and minimize construction labor costs through custom skilled staffing solutions," says Matthew Hudson, General Manager. "Our company stands out from other staffing agencies because our goal is to always match the right tradesperson to the right client. We don't just send anyone to our clients' job sites; our sales team digs into our clients' businesses and not only match our tradespeople with the correct skill set for the position but also to a client's personality, time constraints, and job site location."

After the release of the Model 3, Tesla wanted to speed up the assembly process. The company decided to add more conveyor systems and heavy machinery to its Fremont plant and reached out to Tradesmen International for help in staffing the installation of these new systems.

"We were able to provide them with over ten journeymen millwrights, carpenters, and heavy equipment operators," notes Hudson. "Tesla was so pleased with our work they have had our tradespeople onsite for the last year, completing various projects in the Fremont plant."

According to Hudson, clients especially appreciate the flexibility that staffing through Tradesmen International provides. "Our services are like a water faucet, you can turn us off and turn us on at your will," he says. "We do not have minimum hours and do not require our clients to keep our employees for set periods of time. If you have a project that you think you may need us on for a week but it ends up being a day's worth of work, you are only billed for that day's worth of work."

Tradesmen International also covers all work-related costs for the staff it provides to clients, including workman's compensation. Additionally, there are no upfront costs when signing up for services. Many clients use Tradesmen International as essentially another part of their hiring team, which helps clients save bottom line costs on labor ads and interviews.

Two years ago the company opened its office at Hacienda, where six office employees oversee more than 50 employees in the field. "Hacienda was our preferred destination given its centralized location, proximity to a variety of restaurants, and for its overall scenic appeal," notes Hudson.

The Hacienda office is one of more than 170 offices across the US, US territories, and Canada. The Hacienda office was the first location for Tradesmen International in the San Francisco Bay Area and, in many ways, acts as the flagship for the other six offices throughout the region, he says. "We are here to help build our community and help local contractors grow their business and save on their bottom line."
