An AST POS system can be customized to fit customer needs and optimized for specific operations. Optional features include a Self-Ordering Kiosk, which allows a restaurant's guests to pay directly at a kiosk to increase sales and reduce wait times. Tableside Ordering is flexible; guests can order themselves using iPad, Android, or Windows 10 tablets. Online Ordering is also possible to allow guests to use a mobile device or desktop computer to place orders. Waitlist and Reservation features allow a front desk to effectively track seat availability based on real data. Another feature, Aura Analytics, keeps track of business data with detailed sales reports, labor reports, cost analysis, and inventory.

The company moved its headquarters, which has 10 employees, to Hacienda in 2015. AST participates in the University of California internship program and the Las Positas College internship program.
