The Livermore Valley Opera is presenting highly anticipated performances of Eugene Onegin by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. This crown jewel of the Russian operatic repertoire is a passionate drama filled with sweepingly beautiful and unabashedly romantic music. Tchaikovsky’s best-loved opera is based on Alexander Pushkin’s profoundly human verse drama. The season continues to thrill in March, 2020 with AFlorentine Tragedy and Gianni Schicchi by Alexander Zemlinsky and Giacomo Puccini; two one-act operas, a tragedy and a comedy, both set in Florence. These operas are based on fragmentary tales by two literary giants: Oscar Wilde in the first case, and Dante Alighieri in the second. One tells a tale of jealousy and commerce, the other of greed and commerce. Enjoy this opportunity to see the operas performed at the Livermore Performing Arts Center (LVPAC). In order to qualify for the discount, applicants need to be either an employee within Hacienda or a resident within one of the following Hacienda residential communities: Andares, Anton Hacienda, Avana Stoneridge, Avila, The Galloway, Park Hacienda, Siena, Valencia or Verona.
