Local Agencies Receive $75,000 in Grants
East Bay, California — The Tri-Valley Community Foundation and the Hacienda Helping Hands campaign have announced the distribution of $75,000 to thirty-one charities, non-profits and social service agencies that serve people in the Tri-Valley.
The grant awards were handed out at the “1st Annual Foundation Gala” at the Mitchell Katz Winery in Livermore on December 7, with over 200 people and dignitaries in attendance. Major support for the Gala was provided by Safeway.
“Our employees and tenants are serving the critical needs in our community though the Hacienda Help Hands campaign,” said James Paxson, General Manager of the Hacienda Business Park in Pleasanton. “We are so excited that their efforts raised money for this many worthy causes.” Paxson added.
Among those receiving grants: Open Heart Kitchen; Special Olympics of Northern California; School of Imagination; Axis Community Health; and the Tri-Valley YMCA.
“We have a wide variety of people in the Tri-Valley who are in need, whether it is health care, social services, education or cultural affairs,” said David Rice, President and CEO of the Tri-Valley Community Foundation.
“This Gala event was an opportunity to recognize and thank those who care so deeply about our community,” said retired Alameda County Superior Court Judge Ron Hyde, who Chairs the Tri-Valley Community Foundation Board of Directors.
A number of Tri-Valley dignitaries attended the gala including: Livermore Mayor John Marchand; former Livermore Mayor Marshall Kamena; Dublin City Council Member Eric Swalwell; Former Dublin Mayor Janet Lockhart; and Livermore Police Chief Steve Sweeney.
The Tri-Valley Community Foundation serves the communities of Dublin, Livermore, Pleasanton, Sunol, San Ramon, Danville and Alamo.
