Commuter Support
We want your commute to be free and easy. A number of support programs are available to make this happen. Check out these special resources to aid you in your use of commute alternatives:

511 Regional Rideshare Program     The 511 Regional Rideshare Program provides expertise on the use of alternate forms of transportation and provides innovative programs for commute solutions. Their most popular program matches riders for carpools and vanpools. You can obtain a "matchlist," a list of fellow commuters with similar commute origins and destinations and learn all about 511 Regional Rideshare commute assistance programs at www.rideshare.511.org.

Commuter Choice Tax Benefit    Get to work tax free. Commuter Choice is the federal tax law which allows employees and employers the ability to set aside money as a benefit or pre-tax payroll allocation for transit via buses, trains or ferries; or for vanpools. The result? Using a commute alternative saves both the employee and the employer money! Several great programs are available to help you implement this benefit today. Visit the Resources section for details.

Guaranteed Ride Home     Using the Alameda County Congestion Management Authority's (CMA) Guaranteed Ride Home program guarantees that you won't get stranded at work after using an alternative commute mode. Learn more at:  www.accma.ca.gov/grh or visit the Resources section for additional information.

Additional Support     Do you need additional resources to plan and implement your alternative commute? It's easy. We have assembled a huge network of information on all of the above programs and more. For details, simply follow the transportation links in the Resources section.
