Make A Difference for Pleasanton is an informal coalition of organizations and individuals working together to make the Pleasanton community a better place. The coalition coordinates and promotes local opportunities for volunteerism. The group was formed as a result of Make A Difference Day, the national day of doing good, but quickly decided that their local slogan would be GET CONNECTED - STAY CONNECTED, to focus on year-round volunteerism, not just one day. This year marks the third annual celebration of Make A Difference Day coordinated by the coalition.

Volunteerism on Display
Make A Difference Day will showcase a number of important community groups. The event will occur on Saturday, October 28, at the Pleasanton Library,  400 Old Bernal Avenue, between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. See first-hand the power of volunteerism at Make A Difference Day where representatives from a variety of community organizations will be available to share information and to offer opportunities for getting involved. Even if you can not join in on Make A Difference Day, you can experience the Make A Difference Day spirit by getting involved with volunteer and non-profit activities. You may reach any of the contacts below for additional details.

Special Pleasanton Cultural Arts Council and Pleasanton Art League Project
For this event, the Pleasanton Cultural Arts Council is cooperating with the Pleasanton Art League for a special project. These groups will be collecting art supplies that will be donated to The Haven, Shepherd's Gate, and Family Crisis Center. The donated supplies will be made available to family members of the people receiving assistance from these organizations. If you plan on attending Make a Difference Day, please bring any art supplies that you may care to donate. Your donations will help enrich the lives of people in need.
