Hacienda affiliates are invited to assist in the Freedom From Hunger Food Drive sponsored by the Alameda County Community Food Bank. The food bank has set a goal of obtaining 20,000 pounds of food and $5,000 from this drive which translates into approximately 31,100 meals. Locally, a number of Tri-Valley operations are recipients of food and money collected by the Alameda County Community Food Bank.

Participation is Easy
Participation is easy. The Food Drive is scheduled to run from July 1 through August 31. A special kick-off simulcast will occur on July 6 on ABC7 from Safeway stores around the Bay Area. Hacienda businesses interested in obtaining their own collection barrel for an on-site drive can contact the Food Bank using the contact information found below. Food Drive barrels will be delivered and picked up by the food bank.

Food for Thought
All donations are gratefully accepted. The Food Bank would particularly like to encourage contributions of the following:

Canned meats
Canned fruits and vegetables
Pasta and sauces
Fruit juices
Soups and stews
Peanut butter
Beans and rice
