With gas prices reaching unprecedented heights, you could probably use some good news about your commute. Starting this month, the 511 Rideshare Program is offering two exciting incentive programs to help commuters get to work more economically – the Spring Vanpool Start Incentive and Rideshare Thursdays. Both incentives will help you save cash on your commute and find a more relaxing, fun way to get to work.
Spring Vanpool Incentive
The Rideshare Program will reward $300 to the next 50 new eligible vanpools that are formed. New vans must stay on the road for three consecutive months. In addition to the incentive award, all new vanpools will receive “Start Kits” containing maps, Rideshare Program magnetic signs to help advertise vans and more!  Visit rideshare.511.org/carpool/vanpool_incentives.asp for more information including eligibility guidelines. We hope you will take the time to discover the many benefits of vanpooling. With more than 25 years experience forming over 2,000 vanpools, including a current fleet of more than 600 vanpools, the Rideshare Program’s dedicated staff is here to help you with all aspects of vanpool formation. To speak directly to a vanpool consultant, call 511 and say “rideshare.”

Rideshare Thursdays
This spring the Rideshare Thursdays campaign is back and better than ever with great new prizes to give away.  Prizes include iPod™ MP3 players and a Monterey Getaway.  To participate in the Rideshare Thursdays campaign, all you need to do is pledge to try a commute alternative – carpool, vanpool, bicycle or transit – once a week. It’s easy and fun. To learn more about Rideshare Thursdays visit: www.rideshare.511.org/rideshare/.
