Spring will be here soon! Get ready by learning to drive a bike with a free Urban Bike Safety Class offered by the East Bay Bicycle Coalition. The East Bay Bicycle Coalition is a group promoting bicycling as an everyday means of transportation and recreation.

Day One: Street Skills Class
The Day 1 Street Skills Class will consist of a three and a half hour classroom course where participants will learn the basics of safe cycling, riding in traffic, equipment, crash avoidance, rights and responsibilities. This class is designed for adults 14 years and over and no bike is needed for this portion of the class. Day one classes are being offered throughout the Bay Area from March to June beginning with a class in Dublin on March 24th. Please visit www.ebbc.org/safety for full details and to sign up for a class online.

Day Two: On-Road Instruction
The On-Road Instruction class will consist of a six and a half hour on-road course that provides an opportunity to put into practice what was learned in the Day 1 Street Skills Class, including emergency maneuvers and riding in various traffic conditions, to test your knowledge of vehicular cycling skills. This class does require a bicycle. Day two classes will be held in Hayward on April 25th, Alameda on May 16th and Pleasanton on June 20th.
