PPIE RUN FOR EDUCATION
The Pleasanton Partnerships in Education Foundation (PPIE) invites you to join them for the 2019 Annual Pleasanton Run for Education. PPIE is a non-profit foundation dedicated to supporting Pleasanton public schools. For over 25 years, PPIE has worked to enhance education throughout the Pleasanton Unified School District through a partnership of business, education and community. PPIE raises funds to support critical programs and to fund projects enhancing educational excellence for all students.
Run for Pleasanton Schools
The Run for Education race is being held on Sunday, April 14, 2019, and both starts and finishes at the Alameda County Fairgrounds. The spectator-friendly finish is back so that your family can cheer you on and hear your name as you cross the finish line. A number of race options are available with a route for everyone! Races include a 5K (3.1 miles), 10K (6.2 miles), and 5K (9.3 miles) course.
The 15K event starts at 7:50 am and consists of a fast and flat course over streets and paved trails. The 10K event starts at 7:50 am and consists of a fast and flat course on the Marilyn Kane Trail as well as streets and trails in Pleasanton. The 5K event starts at 8:00 am and offers a family-friendly race from the Alameda County Fairgrounds through downtown Pleasanton. The Kids Challenge starts at 9:15 am with 0.5K and 1K distance courses. Following the race, participants and spectators can enjoy food, fun and entertainment at the post race expo. There will be plenty of aid stations and convenience stops along the courses. Walkers and runners with baby strollers are encouraged to participate. However, dogs, scooters and bikes are not allowed.
Kids are invited to the Run For Education as well! The Kids Challenge is open to children ages 12 years old and under (approximately 0.3 mile and 0.6 mile distances). All Kids’ Challenge participants will receive a medal after crossing the finish line! In addition to the Kids’ Challenge, there will be fun kids activities at the expo.
Complete course information, entrance fees and registration is available online. Race entry fees range from $17 - $65, and a variety of early-bird discounts are available to encourage early registration. Registration information and forms can be found at: www.ppierun.com. PPIE will receive 100% of the proceeds raised at this event.
