HOPE HOSPICE ANNUAL HIKE FOR HOPE
Hope Hospice invites you and your family and friends to join them for their Hike for Hope, and family picnic. The Hike for Hope is a non-competitive event benefiting Hope Hospice; a non-profit organization serving the Tri-Valley since 1980. Hope Hospice provides specialized hospice care for patients facing a life-threatening illness and grief support to families and loved ones.
Beyond the 10K
Join Hope Hospice on Saturday, May 4, 2019 for a memorial hike and fundraiser in Del Valle Regional Park. Check in will occur between 8:00 - 9:30 am and participants can start anytime between 8:30 - 9:30 am with an end time of 1:30 pm. Hikers can choose from an easy 2.6 mile walk along Lake Del Valle, or a 4.5 mile hike with a moderate incline. The hike will include the Ridgeline and Hetch Hetchy trails which provide spectacular views of the valley, lake and surrounding hills. Both routes may be easily shortened or lengthened if desired. Hikers are encouraged to keep the fun going by packing a picnic, and participating in the silent auction and raffle. Prizes include baskets filled with special items and services, and great vacation packages.
Since the hike is an opportunity to remember a loved one, each hiker is encouraged to bring a photo or memento of the person for whom the hike is dedicated. There will be opportunities throughout the hike for reflection and moments of silence. Tributes can also be recognized at the special "tennis shoe" memorial that will be on display.
The fee to participate is $39 through May 9th, and $45 after that date. Children 12 years and under may hike for free. Registration can be obtained by visiting http://events.hopehospice.com/site/TR/Hike/General?fr_id=1140&pg=entry. Online registration closes on May 3rd, and anyone wishing to register after that date is invited to contact the Hope for Hospice representative below. Hikers can hike as an individual or as part of a team, and everyone is encouraged to invite others to help sponsor this event with pledges. After registering online, participants will receive a parking pass. Without the pass, parking is $6 per vehicle. Proceeds from this event will support the medical, emotional and spiritual needs of Hope for Hospice patients and families regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay. All of the hike’s net proceeds are used to care for the more than 2,000 area residents served each year.
Additional information on the event and sponsorship opportunities are available. For details, please refer to the Hope Hospice representative below.
