  • The 680 Business Journal reports that Zantaz.com has signed an agreement to provide their Digital Safe service to online stock brokerage E*Trade. The Digital Safe provides non-tamperable archiving and retrieval of e-commerce transactions.
  • ProBusiness announced that Yahoo! Inc., a leading global Internet media company, is using the Hacienda company's payroll and payroll tax filing services. It was also announced that ProBusiness has been selected by Delta Airlines to handle the company's payroll taxes for its 75,000 employees.
  • A survey sponsored by Robert Half International of 150 executives at the nation's largest companies indicates that 70 percent believe that using specialized staffing firms is an effective way to find qualified candidates.

    The next most common response was "Posting job openings on the company web site," which found 57 percent agreement among those polled.

  • CarrAmerica Corporate Center has been awarded the Local Building Owners and Managers Association's (BOMA's) Office Building of the Year (TOBY) Award. CarrAmerica Corporate Center was recognized for excellence in the suburban office park category and will advance to the regional competition.
  • Quest Software, Inc., will acquire Hacienda's Foglight Software, a leading provider of enterprise e-business application availability solutions, for 1.3 million shares of common stock. Foglight has a number of prominent e-business customers, including Cisco Systems, Discover Brokerage, eBay, and Sun Microsystems.
  • Remedy Corp. has been named to Deloitte & Touche's prestigious "Technology Fast 500" program, a ranking of the 500 fastest growing technology companies in the U.S., and also to the Telecom Business magazine "Top 500" list of companies playing a crucial role in shaping the future of the telecom marketplace.
