PLEASANTON DROUGHT RESPONSE
The City of Pleasanton invites you to join them for a presentation on April 8th regarding water conservation measures needed to respond to the current drought. Come learn about recently adopted city ordinances and actions required to address current water supplies.
Doing Business During a Drought
The City of Pleasanton declared a Stage I drought in February in response to the Governor’s declaration that customers voluntary conserve 20% of their water consumption. Shortly after the Governor’s declaration, the State Water Project informed the Tri-Valley cities and Zone 7 that the area’s annual state water allocation, supplied through the South Bay Aqueduct, would be shut off in the coming months based on both record-low rainfall and Sierra snowpack in 2013 and projections through the end of 2014. The City of Pleasanton has set into motion a comprehensive plan for dealing with Stage I voluntary conservation as well as measures to address the strong likelihood of Stage 2, 3 or 4 mandatory conservation in the future.
