Great Destinations Inc. is a vacation ownership company that offers owners affordable luxury across the globe. "In the timeshare space that we occupy, most of the negative feedback comes from the lack of flexibility and a forever commitment," says Andrew Gennuso, Great Destinations President and CEO. "We offer points as vacation currency so our owners are not tied to a specific location. They can spend those points anywhere, anytime within our resort network of over 3,000 destinations. We also offer a twelve-year opt-out clause. So after twelve years, if their vacation behavior or life has changed, they can opt out of their ownership and have no further obligation."

Great Destinations has cut out the middleman and acts as a broker between timeshare sellers and buyers, according to Gennuso. "Every hotel brand, including Marriott, Hilton, Westin, Starwood, and Disney, occupy space within our industry. They have helped bring some real credibility to our industry and have raised the bar on best practices."

The 12-year opt-out clause has solved the perpetual ownership problem for some clients. According to Gennuso, Great Destinations owners can stay owners for as long as they like but also have the reassurance of knowing that they can opt-out of ownership should their situations change.

"Our product has been maligned in the past years but really does work," says Gennuso. "The most important piece of advice I can give is to do your homework and learn how to use your ownership. The owners who spend the time to truly understand the product are able to maximize their vacation experiences."

Great Destinations opened its Hacienda office in October 2016. "We believe the Northern California market is a growing vibrant travel market, and we wanted to be part of it," he says.

The Pleasanton office is one of four offices operated by Great Destinations in California. They include a corporate office in Orange County and sales locations in Ontario and Palm Springs. The company expects to have 20 employees in its Hacienda office by the end of the year.
