The California Independent Film Festival is all set to take place in the Livermore Valley Wine Country. Join filmmakers, actors and fellow fans for this premiere event. The 6th Annual California Independent Film Festival runs from November 4-7, 2004 at the Cedar Mountain Winery, Murrieta's Well, Rios-Lovell Estate Winery, Tamas Estates, The Steven Kent Winery, Wente Vineyards Estate Winery, and The Vine Cinema.

Celebrating Independent Film Makers

The 6th Annual California Independent International Film Festival is presented by the California Independent Film Festival Association, a nonprofit arts and educational organization dedicated to furthering the art of independent filmmakers. The festival event is produced by the California Independent Film Festival Association, the Livermore Valley Winegrowers Association, and the Tri-Valley Convention & Visitors Bureau. Over 600 films were submitted in 2004; 78 will be screened at this year's festival. Categories include documentaries, features, shorts, mini-shorts, animation, and music videos.

Festival Events

The four-day festival kicks off Thursday with an Opening Night Reception at Zephyr Grill & Bar in downtown Livermore followed by a screening at The Vine Cinema of Comic Book: The Movie. The film's director/star Mark Hamill (Star Wars) and co-stars Donna D'Errico (BayWatch) and Debi Derryberry (Jimmy Neutron) will conduct a Q&A session prior to the screening. Friday's festivities begin with a Celebrity Golf Classic at Poppy Ridge Golf Course hosted by Cathy Lee Crosby and conclude with a Marilyn Monroe Look Alike contest prior to a showing at The Vine Cinema of Some Like It Hot. The film's star, Tony Curtis, will conduct a Q&A session prior to the screening. The independent film screening, seminars and wine tastings begin Saturday and run through Sunday concluding with the 2004 Slate Awards on Sunday evening honoring the festival's top independent filmmakers.
