The Museum on Main invites to to join them in two upcoming fundraising events. The Museum On Main Street is operated by The Amador-Livermore Valley Historical Society, a non-profit organization dedicated to linking the past to the future by preserving, clarifying and disseminating information about history specific to this region. All proceeds from the events will benefit projects being undertaken by the Museum on Main.
The Museum on Main is inviting artists of all levels, ages 14 and up, to participate in a daylong plein air community art event to Paint the Town on Saturday, May 14, 2011. The event will begin at 9:00 am when artists bring their supplies to the Museum on Main to check-in and receive their apron and box lunch. Artists will then go out and paint at a location of their choice. Artists will return their "wet artworks" to the Museum on Main between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm. The art will be photographed for an online auction and will be placed on display. There is a $10 registration fee to participate in the event. Artwork created at Paint the Town will be available for auction online following the event. All artwork will start with a minimum bid of $20 and artists will be given a link at check-in. Any art not purchased will be returned to the artist and 20% of the final auction sale price will be returned to the artist when sold for over $100.
Tour select homes of downtown Pleasanton on Sunday, May 22, 2011 from 11 am to 3 pm. This self guided tour will begin at the Museum on Main and will take participants to historic gems of downtown, historic remodels as well as new construction built to fit in with the community. Tickets for the event are $25 each.
