The City of Pleasanton is updating the Housing Element of its General Plan. The Housing Element outlines the community's housing policies, goals, and programs, and identifies opportunities for new housing over the next eight years. The feedback provided in this survey will help inform and plan for the future of housing in Pleasanton and is intended to gather feedback and identify trends on housing preferences, needs, and future housing opportunities in the city. This is the first step in the ongoing community engagement process associated with updating Pleasanton's Housing Element.

The Housing Element

The Housing Element is one part of the City’s General Plan and is intended to provide a comprehensive strategy for promoting the production of safe, decent, and affordable housing within the community. California law acknowledges that for the private market to adequately address housing needs and demands, local governments must provide opportunities for, and not unduly constrain, housing development.
