Robert Half International Expanding Again in Park

Personnel Specialists Continue with Consistent Growth

By Jay Hipps Editor, Hacienda Network

In their second Hacienda expansion in just over two years, Robert Half International has leased the new Britannia VIII facility at 5735 West Las Positas Boulevard. The building totals 76,854 square feet.

"The reason we're expanding is due to our growth as a company," says Robert Meyer, RHI real estate manager. "This will be an administrative expansion to accommodate our growth nationally and internationally."

RHI also occupies 65,000 square feet at 5700 and 5720 Stoneridge Drive and added the 55,000 square foot Britannia V building at 4385 Hopyard Road in July of 1998.

Back-Office Functions

The new facility will join RHI's existing Hacienda offices in providing accounting and finance operations which provide all of the back office functions such as billing and payroll for the entire organization and the tens of thousands of temporaries who work through RHI in any given week.

"The new facility will be able to hold approximately 360 people," adds Meyer. "We have about 300 offices throughout North America as well as in Europe and Australia and this expansion will support those locations."

The latest lease brings their Hacienda total to nearly 200,000 square feet.

A Long History

RHI, founded in 1948, was one of the first specialized staffing services.

The company consists of a corporate umbrella and seven divisions which provide both permanent and temporary staffing solutions in accounting and finance (Accountemps, Robert Half, and RHI Management Resources); administration (OfficeTeam); law (The Affiliates); and information technology (RHI Consulting). The latest division, called The Creative Group, serves clients in the areas of marketing, advertising, and web design.

RHI has seen record growth for several consecutive years. The company's 1999 net income was $141.4 million, up from $131.6 million in 1998. Revenues were also the highest ever at $2.1 billion, a 16 percent increase.

Lauded by Business Press

Naturally, the company's accomplishments have not gone unnoticed in the business press.

In January, RHI was named to the Forbes "Platinum List" of top business services firms for investor returns and growth.

February's Fortune magazine included RHI on its list of "America's Most Admired Companies," giving it top ranking among all staffing firms for the second consecutive year.
