MasterCPR Offers Special Rates on First Aid, CPR Certification Courses for Hacienda Tenants

When medical emergencies take place, being able to provide immediate CPR and first aid can make a critical difference. That's the thinking behind the courses offered by MasterCPR, an American Heart Association affiliate which is offering discounted CPR and first aid training to Hacienda tenants and residents.

"This is an exciting opportunity to learn the skills needed to save lives from experienced healthcare professionals in a fun and engaging atmosphere," says Noah Lichtenstein, VP of Business Development for the organization. "Participants will leave feeling comfortable applying these vital skills."

Based in Portland, MasterCPR works nationally with large companies like Google, Ikea, and Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman as well as with local community groups and individuals in an effort to better prepare people to respond to medical emergencies.

"Without immediate CPR and early defibrillation, a victim in cardiac arrest has a less than five percent chance of survival," says Lichtenstein. "The training and certification we offer in CPR, first aid, and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) can increase survival rates by up to 74 percent and make a critical difference."

MasterCPR will be coming to Hacienda on March 27, 28, and 29 to teach workshops on CPR and general first aid. Company instructors are practicing healthcare providers who are experienced in administering CPR and first aid under emergency conditions, and their 8:1 student-teacher ratio means that participants will get plenty of individualized instruction. Participants who complete the training will be certified for two years by the American Heart Association.

"The courses will cover child and infant CPR as well, which makes them perfect for new parents," adds Lichtenstein.

Both the CPR and first aid courses take about four hours. While certifications typically cost around $70 per person, Hacienda is being offered a discounted rate of only $48. This price includes full certification in CPR, first aid, and AED usage.

Spaces are limited for each session and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis, so it is important to register as soon as possible. Classes will be held in Hacienda at the CarrAmerica Conference Center, 4400 Rosewood Drive.

"Based on community interest and successful attendance, we hope to make on-site classes available regularly to all Hacienda tenants and residents," says Lichtenstein.
