Commuter Choice Transportation Fair October 4

The power to choose is yours! Find a better way to commute to work by attending the Commuter Choice Transportation Fair, hosted by Hacienda Business Park and the City of Pleasanton. This year's event will take place on Thursday, October 4, from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm at the CarrAmerica Conference Center, 4400 Rosewood Drive. Admission is free.

The Commuter Choice Transportation Fair provides a comprehensive, informational forum for employers, employees and residents in the Tri-Valley. Exhibitors will be on hand with information to educate attendees about the complete range of transportation alternatives and related support programs available to them to aid them in their commuting decisions. Exhibitors include a broad range of representatives of various commuting choices such as transit providers, rideshare resources, biking and walking, telecommuting, regional commute assistance, commute benefits, and employer programs.

This year, Hacienda has invited nearly 50 representatives from various transit and transportation vendors from around the Bay Area, Tri-Valley and San Joaquin Valley. In addition, other organizations such as the Trails Council of Livermore-Amador Valley, East Bay Regional Parks District, American Lung Association, and American Heart Association, and the East Bay Bicycle Coalition will participate.

The fair is divided into two parts. The first hour, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am, is specifically designed for Employee Transportation Coordinators, or those who either facilitate a company's transportation program or who oversee employee benefits programs including transportation incentives. Fair vendors will be available to answer questions and work with representatives on creating program options for their businesses. The second part of the fair, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm, is for the general public. During this time, fair attendees can connect with representatives from important resources that can help them choose commuting alternatives that can save both time and money.

Fair attendees who visit exhibitor tables will have a chance to enter for prize drawings for gift baskets and other prizes, donated by the City of Pleasanton. Attendees who visit five vendors become eligible to win prizes. Gift basket prizes include items such as gourmet foods, spa items and more. The grand prize will be a gift certificate for a weekend getaway. There is no charge to enter the drawings and attendees need not be present to win.

Parking will be available at the CarrAmerica Conference Center. WHEELS buses also stop at the center. For more information on using WHEELS, visit the WHEELS website at www.wheelsbus.com.
