AT&T Communications Expands Operations at Hacienda

AT&T Communications has leased two more of the original 12 buildings at Hacienda Business Park, according to an announcement by Jack Swanson of The Prudential Insurance Company of America, co-developer of the Park. "With the addition of these facilities, AT&T has strengthened its major commitment to Hacienda and to Pleasanton."

The buildings, which have a combined total over 110,000 square feet, will join the six other buildings in Hacienda Business Park now leased to AT&T Communications. The new buildings will house about 600 AT&T employees in the company's engineering and marketing departments.

The Amador I building at the corner of W. Las Positas Boulevard and Willow Road, will house some of AT&T Communications engineering functions. Over 200 employees in various types of engineering positions will eventually work in the building.

The second building, Amador II, located at the corner of Willow Road and Inglewood Drive, will house the company's Residence Service Center. Over 400 employees, the majority of them new hires, will be employed in various residential marketing functions in the building. The Residence Service Center is responsible for servicing residential customers in the 11 state western region. The new building will centralize AT&T Communications residence marketing efforts.

"Approximately $40,000 in annual property tax revenue will be generated for the city of Pleasanton when the buildings are occupied," stated Swanson.

AT&T Communications currently has over 1,400 people working at its office in Hacienda Business Park and Centerpointe on the Stoneridge Mall periphery.  Of these, over 200 are local residents hired since the company began its phased move to Pleasanton in October, 1983. The company expected to hire an additional 400-500 local residents for its Pleasanton operations within the year.

AT&T Communications expects to open a second local employment office at Hacienda Business Park by late 1984. The company is currently handling applications for all Pleasanton operations from its employment office at its Centerpointe facilities on the Stoneridge Mall periphery.
