Kimley-Horn Offers Award-Winning Engineering and Design Services

Kimley-Horn is one of the nation's premier planning, engineering, and design consulting firms. It offers full services in a wide range of disciplines, from aerospace infrastructure to site forensics to pipeline engineering to environmental assessments and much more. Whether a project is national or local and involves public infrastructure or private development, Kimley-Horn looks out for the best interests of its clients, reduces their risk, and delivers great value.

Nearly 90% of Kimley-Horn's business comes from repeat clients. They appreciate the creativity and rigor provided by the firm's engineers, planners, and environmental scientists, who deliver outstanding results. It has a long track record of developing solutions that save clients time and money, sometimes by identifying savings that actually surpass the firm's fees.

The firm's clients are as diverse as its specialties. In Alameda County, for example, Kimley-Horn was the lead planner, designer, and integration manager for the I-80 Integrated Corridor Mobility Project. This $92-million project involved the implementation of an integrated Active Traffic Management system with managed lanes along the Bay Area's most congested freeway segment, a 20.5-mile stretch of I-80 and San Pablo Avenue in the East Bay.

In Pleasanton, Kimley-Horn is providing civil and traffic engineering, as well as parking consulting services for the Sears department store redevelopment project at Stoneridge Shopping Center. This project represents the first major change to the Stoneridge mall since 2005. The project includes the demolition of the existing Sears department store and parking structure and the construction of three new retail buildings, a new two-story mixed-use building with a specialty grocery market, two restaurants on the ground floor, a cinema above, a three-story lifestyle fitness facility with a restaurant, and surface-level parking. Kimley-Horn also is reconfiguring existing parking/driveway areas to create new pedestrian and bicycle access lanes for the site.

"Civil engineering and consulting poses many challenges to our clients, so we take pride in being the best at service so our customers can focus on the project and not the problems," says Leyla Hedayat, Senior Vice President and Principal. "Our Core Values are key to the operation. Providing exceptional client service differentiates us from the competition. Our growth has been an organic result of exercising these values."
