Hacienda Helping Hands Partners with East Bay Community Foundation
Business Park’s Charitable Fund Means Help for Tri-Valley causes
PLEASANTON, Calif. — The annual “Hacienda Helping Hands” holiday campaign, through which businesses at Hacienda provide contributions to Tri-Valley nonprofit organizations, is now under the umbrella of the East Bay Community Foundation, one of the largest sources of philanthropic support for the East Bay.
Hacienda’s charitable fund is one of more than 500 funds at the Foundation held by individuals, families, corporations, nonprofits and other organizations with a total value in excess of $300 million. The Foundation invests the funds and provides grant-making assistance to fund holders.
In the past five years, the Helping Hands campaign has contributed more than $100,000 to dozens of nonprofit and community-based organizations serving the Tri-Valley, including Axis Community Health, Senior Support Program of the Tri-Valley, Somos Comunidad, Tri-Valley Housing Opportunity, Sentinels of Freedom, Grid Alternatives, and Open Heart Kitchen.
“I am pleased and proud of our new partnership with the East Bay Community Foundation, especially because it enables us to continue the good work we started in 2008,” said James Paxson, General Manager of Hacienda.
“Our work with Hacienda illustrates the potential and importance of corporate giving in the Tri-Valley,” said Deborah Alvarez-Rodriguez, interim President & Chief Executive Officer at the East Bay Community Foundation.
Hacienda comprises a broad mix of over 550 firms involved in high tech, communications, the food industry, insurance, finance, and consumer goods. There are headquarters and western regional offices of Fortune 500 companies or their subsidiaries there, as well as start-up companies comprised of local talent and consulting firms with expertise in legal, accounting, engineering and computer systems.
The East Bay Community Foundation (www.eastbaycf.org) transforms lives by harnessing financial capital, leadership and philanthropic expertise through the power of many: partnerships with individual donors, business, government, and private foundations. We are especially dedicated to advancing economic opportunity for those in need and the education that leads to it. As a leading resource on charitable giving and community needs, we manage more than 500 charitable funds and endowments.
