HACIENDA BUSINESSES ACTIVE IN EARLY 2015
PLEASANTON, Calif. — Hacienda businesses were active in the last few months with a number of key announcements coming from several tenants. Likewise, tenant activity in the park has been steady and strong with over a dozen new companies settling into Hacienda since the beginning of the year.
“Tenant activity in Hacienda has been very good so far this year” says James Paxson, Hacienda's general manager. “Even with a slight increase in vacancy this last month, Hacienda's occupancy has increased by nearly two percentage points since the end of last year. Additional activity is expected before the end of the year.”
Major Business Activity
Here is a summary of just some of what has gone on in Northern California’s largest mixed-use development in the past few months:
iTradeNetwork Improves Efficiency of Nation’s Food Supply
The nation’s food network is operating more efficiently, thanks to a new food traceability project from iTradeNetwork. iTradeNetwork is the leading provider of global supply chain solutions, allowing the food industry to track goods and services with the company’s cloud-based solutions.
The Hacienda-based company has partnered with Dot Foods, the nation’s largest food redistributor, to launch the innovative supply chain traceability project. “Dot has consistently shown leadership and innovation in the ways they use iTradeNetwork solutions,” Jim Corbett, iTradeNetwork vice president, said. “Working with Dot has helped us refine the ways we can use the (advanced shipment information) to act as a fundamental framework for capturing critical traceability signals.”
The project leverages iTradeNetwork’s ability to capture, cleanse and transmit information electronically from food and beverage suppliers through every stage of the supply chain. The Dot Foods traceability solution takes data from the standard GS1-128 pallet label and associates it with active shipments and sales orders being transmitted electronically to customers. The resulting system aligns with industry-driven traceability and food safety requirements while providing advanced shipment information using iTradeNetwork’s procurement system for food service distributors and operators. iTradNetwork’s networks are used by more than 8,000 companies in the food industry, including many of the country’s biggest grocery retailers, food distributors, food service management companies and restaurant chains.

Xerox Expands Learning Services for Businesses
Xerox has expanded its learning services with the recent acquisition of the Seattle-based Intrepid Learning Solutions’ learning services to provide employees with the latest skills and knowledge to improve business performance. Xerox’s learning services unit focuses on implementing systems that manage a company’s internal talent management and employee learning programs, including live classroom sessions and e-learning.
The acquisition of Intrepid’s learning services will add consulting services and custom-tailored course curriculum. The firm also offers instructors, trainers and facilitators to provide classroom instruction, plus administration and logistics to ensure employees get instruction in a timely and effective manner.
“The speed of change in today’s business world means that in order to stay relevant, companies and their employees must be at the top of their game,” Mark Hill, group executive of Xerox human resource services, said. “The addition of Intrepid’s expertise to our learning organization significantly expands our ability to deliver impactful, engaging and comprehensive learning solutions accessible to our customers at the point and time of greatest need.”
Xerox’s acquisition does not include Intrepid’s cloud-based learning technology business, which will continue to be marketed under the Intrepid Learning brand. The two companies will launch a partnership alliance to present clients with unified learning options using Intrepid’s technology and Xerox’s e-learning, consulting, administration and classroom training programs.
