ARTIST'S PREVIEW TO BENEFIT PCAC

The public is invited to the Artist's Preview Reception for an exhibit of "California Scenes", Plein Air Watercolors by Charlotte Severin, Friday December 1, 5:00 - 9:00 pm and Saturday, December 2, 1:00 - 4:00 pm at Studio 7 Fine Arts (formerly The Barlett Gallery), 77 West Angela Street (near the corner of Main Street), Pleasanton. The exhibit will continue through January 3, 2001. The gallery is open Tuesdays through Saturday, 10:00 am - 8:00 pm.

Special Benefit

Ten percent of all of the artist's preview sales on December 1 and 2 will go directly to the Pleasanton Cultural Arts Council. The non-profit Pleasanton Cultural Arts Council has spearheaded efforts to provide quality arts programming in Pleasanton, including leadership roles in funding the Amador Theatre conversion during the 1980's, formation of the Pleasanton Playhouse Theatre Company, and creation of the City's Civic Arts Commission. In addition to continuing its important programs in support of Pleasanton schools and achievement awards for our youth, PCAC will champion a drive to expand public arts facilities in Pleasanton. Facilities to accommodate arts education and training; rehearsal space for performing arts and musical groups; and venues for theatrical performances are all urgent needs.

About the Artist

Charlotte Severin is a long-time, integral part of the Tri-Valley arts community whose work has been featured regionally in a number of venues. Charlotte Severin's original watercolor of "Wente Sparkling Wine Cellar's Vineyard In Autumn" was recently acquired for the permanent collection at the Oakland Museum. This piece will also be exhibited at the Riverside Museum and San Francisco Museum as part of a traveling exhibit, as well as appearing in an upcoming book about California's historic vineyards.
