The holiday season is soon approaching and Pleasanton’s Hometown Holiday Celebration Committee is preparing to bring the community together for a special holiday tradition. The City of Pleasaanton and Pleasanton Downtown Association encourage you to gather family, friends, co-workers and community groups to celebrate the spirit of the holidays. Be festive and creative while exhibiting community pride in the Hometown Holiday Celebration Parade.

Magical Holiday Evening

Kick off the season in Downtown Pleasanton at the Pleasanton Downtown Association's Annual Magical Holiday Evening! On Friday, December 4th from 4:00 - 8:00 pm, at Lions Wayside Park. Everyone is invited to enjoy free photos with Mr. and Mrs. Claus, visits from Santa's elves, live holiday music, a hot chocolate bar, and a charming Christmas market filled with local vendors and holiday cheer. Join the holiday fun by enjoying a variety of free family-friendly activities, including ornament decorating, face painting, and more. 

Hometown Holiday Celebration

The Hometown Holiday Celebration, a popular holiday tradition, will follow on Saturday, December 5th on Main Street, in Downtown Pleasanton, starting with a festive parade at 5:00 pm. The parade starts just before the Main Street Bridge and proceeds south, ending at Abbie Street, featuring floats, marching bands, community groups, and more! Afterward, join Mayor Jack Balch at the tree lighting ceremony in front of the Museum on Main with a special appearance from Santa Claus. Registration and Sponsorship Opportunities 

Registration for the Hometown Holiday Parade will begin on Thursday, October 1, 2026. The City of Pleasanton invites businesses to partner and get involved in the Hometown Holiday Celebration. Sponsorships may be fufilled through financial contributions or in-kind donations of goods and services of equivalent value.  Sponsorship opportunities are available ranging from $500 - $10,000 and more informaiton is available at www.cityofpleasantonca.gov/your-community/arts-theaters-events/hometown-holiday-celebration/#sponsorships.
