Pleasanton Young Professionals Provide Support, Development

Pleasanton Young Professionals (PYP) is a subgroup of the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce that helps professionals aged 21 to 40 learn and grow through professional development, networking events, and volunteer opportunities. The organization helps members learn by focusing on professionalism, leadership, and community service. It helps them advance through events and meetings that cultivate and promote career growth.

"We are the leading group in the Tri-Valley for young professionals, and we make it fun and casual to get involved and meet new people," says PYP President Jeremy Rosenblatt. "We focus on both professional and personal development. We offer quarterly development lunches with various topics and roundtable discussions as well as monthly networking mixers. We want young professionals in the area to feel like they have a space to meet like-minded people."

PYP has recently hosted a roundtable discussion on personal finance, for example. The group is fundraising for Girls Soccer Worldwide over the month of July. The organization's most recent quarterly professional development event, called the Mastermind lunch, focused on how to use social media to target a desired audience.

"While we are a professional networking group, we do have a lot of fun and enjoy cultivating relationships to help each other grow in our careers," notes Rosenblatt. "Our events are diverse and well-rounded and focus on personal and professional growth. We hope that our local young professionals can build meaningful relationships and appreciation for our wonderful Pleasanton community. Although we are a subgroup of the Pleasanton Chamber, you don't have to be a member to attend our events."

Upcoming events include monthly mixers on August 4, September 8, and October 6 that are free for Chamber of Commerce members and $10 for non-members. Mastermind lunches, which are $10 for Chamber members and $20 for non-members, are planned for September 19 and November 28. A volunteer event on November 3 will support the local Kids Against Hunger nonprofit.
