PLEASANTON, Calif. — Hacienda has been named one of the Best Workplaces for Commuters in 2018 for offering exceptional employee-provided commuter benefits that meet the National Standard of Excellence criteria. "Hacienda is on the cutting edge of a national movement," said Julie Bond, Program Manager, Best Workplaces for Commuters. "They have listened to their employees' challenges with traffic congestion and their concerns over reducing emissions. By offering a range of commuter benefits such as subsiding bus fares, carpooling programs and access to Emergency Ride Home programs, Hacienda gives its employees the support they need to get to and from work so they can be at their best. These benefits are good for the company and its employees."

Hacienda has been repeatedly recognized under the Best Workplaces for Commuters program as a Best Site. Locations so designated must provide a suite of commuting benefits to a specific area and collection of businesses. "Hacienda is grateful to again be recognized for the work we do to help ease the commutes of those who work and live in our community," noted James Paxson, Hacienda's general manager. "Our core commute benefits offering has been regularly acknowledged under this program since its inception by the Environmental Protection Agency over a decade ago. However, we are always trying to improve on what we do as commuting remains a challenge in the region for our employees and residents, and our businesses need to know that everything possible is being done to help connect them with the talent they need to be successful. We continue to believe that Hacienda is fundamentally a better place to work and live because of what we offer." Beyond the recognition awarded to Hacienda as a place, Hacienda's Best Workplaces for Commuters Site designation also means that the Best Workplaces for Commuters Employer recognition can be afforded to any of the park's 680 businesses, simply by virtue of their location in the park, once they sign up for the program.

The Best Workplaces for Commuters program offers designated organizations access to a range of support services to assess and promote non-driving commuting of employees, including organizational assessment and implementation tool-kits, web-based tools and webinars, staff training, and information exchange. "The companies on this list understand the importance and impact commuter benefits have on their employees and the value they bring to the environment," said Bond. "Excellent commuter benefit programs may reward these companies not just with a national designation, but buoys workplace productivity, customer loyalty and brand recognition in an increasingly competitive marketplace."
