In 2018 the company added Veeva Nitro to its product offerings. Veeva Nitro is a life sciences-specific commercial data warehouse that eliminates the time and effort of custom data warehouses and provides a foundation for artificial intelligence and advanced analytics. Veeva Nitro provides an industry-specific data model and standard integrations that unify a company's most important data sources, including prescription, sales, formulary, and claims data. Data is automatically updated when data structures or sources change, eliminating the significant effort typically required to maintain a custom-built data warehouse.

Veeva was founded in 2007. Its two founders combined deep Silicon Valley expertise with deep life-sciences expertise, and the company quickly became one of the fastest-growing and most profitable cloud software companies. This customer-centric approach has worked well for Veeva. In fiscal 2019, the revenue retention rate for the company was a remarkable 122%. "I'm particularly proud of this metric as it demonstrates our customers' willingness to invest more with Veeva over time based on the success that they've had with our products and our people," says Cabral, who has been with the company for nine years.

Veeva Systems moved its company headquarters to Hacienda in January 2009. Today more than 650 Veeva employees work at the Hacienda campus. Veeva's great partnership with Hacienda allows the company to offer a variety of discounted transportation options to employees. The location provides other benefits as well.

"Many Veeva employees live within the Tri-Valley, so they are close to home and can work within their community," says Cabral. "That is the greatest benefit of being in Hacienda. The company supports the local community in several ways, including hosting Tri-Valley CoderDojo meetings on the fourth Wednesday of each month and, like Hacienda, sponsoring East Bay Bike to Work Day, which will be observed this year on May 9, 2019.
