PLEASANTON, Calif. — Business activity at Hacienda has remained constant throughout 2019. While overall occupancy is somewhat lower than the high points seen in the prior year, net absorption has remained positive for the year. Flex space vacancy has increased over the close of the prior year but office and retail occupancy have both increased since the end of 2018.

"Hacienda has continued to see interest and investment throughout 2019 in a number of ways" notes James Paxson, Hacienda's general manager. "We are still seeing an active market for Hacienda property with a number of sales completed for the year and more to close soon. We are also seeing both tenants returning to Hacienda after brief relocations outside of the development as well as continued growth of tenants within the development. As has recently been highlighted in key reports, Hacienda and the Tri-Valley's assets provide an inspiring case for the likelihood of continued positive economic activity."

Global Study Highlights the Varying Shopping Expectations of Different Generations and the Role of Technology in Personalizing Retail

Despite clear differences in expectations among shoppers of different generations, almost half of retailers (44 percent) have made no progress in tailoring the in-store shopping experience according to a recent study conducted by Oracle NetSuite, Wakefield Research and The Retail Doctor. The global study of 1,200 consumers and 400 retail executives across the U.S., U.K. and Australia dispelled stereotypes around generations and found big differences in generational expectations across baby boomers, Gen X, millennials and Gen Z.

"We have seen decades of diminishing experiences in brick and mortar stores, and the differences identified in these results point to its impact on consumers over the years," said Bob Phibbs, CEO, The Retail Doctor. "Retailers have fallen behind in offering in-store experiences that balance personalization and customer service but there's an opportunity to take the reins back. The expectation from consumers is clear and it's up to retailers to offer engaging and custom experiences that will cater to shoppers across a diverse group of ... more.
