PLEASANTON, Calif. — Hacienda Helping Hands has awarded two impact grants to organizations providing local services: Axis Community Health and The Assistance League of Amador Valley. Axis Community Health was given a $10,000 grant in support of their new dental clinic. The Assistance League was given a $5,000 grant in support of their programs supporting children. Grants were made through a Donor Advised Fund held by the East Bay Community Foundation.

"Hacienda Helping Hands is pleased to offer our support to two highly worthy organizations," said James Paxson, Hacienda's general manager. "The purpose of our granting program is to find opportunities to lend our assistance to impactful activities happening in the community. Both Axis Community Health and the Assistance League of Amador Valley are doing work that is worthy of this support."

"The dental team at Axis Community Health is especially grateful for the support of Hacienda Helping Hands, as these funds allowed us to modernize the x-ray equipment we use in our new dental clinic," remarked Sue Compton, Axis Community Health Executive Director. "In response to the enormous need in the community for dental services for low-income uninsured Tri-Valley residents, Axis opened a dental clinic in February 2019. Since opening, we have provided dental care for more than 1,000 low income Tri-Valley residents, with a special focus on children and pregnant women. Our upgraded x-ray equipment allows us to seamlessly connect dental x-rays with patient records, which also connects to our patients' medical records, allowing us to fully coordinate the health needs of our patients."

"The Assistance League of Amador Valley treasures the recent grant of $5,000 from Hacienda Helping Hands," notes Rosiland Wright, Assistance League of Amador Valley representative. "This gift will considerably impact our effectiveness in the Tri-Valley in clothing needy children each year (a program that overall, has supported 5,500 children), in providing monthly food for Tri-Valley families and in supporting eye-examinations for pre-school children."
