PLEASANTON, Calif. — Hacienda has once again been named one of the Best Workplaces for Commuters in 2019 for offering exceptional employee-provided commuter benefits that meet the National Standard of Excellence criteria. "Being designated as one of the Best Workplaces for Commuters is more than just a title; it means an employer is standing behind its commitment to provide employees with access to progressive commuter programs, like discounted transit passes, bicycle-friendly amenities, and rideshare solutions," said Julie Bond, Program Manager for Best Workplaces for Commuters. "Making such a commitment has its perks. Besides being a leader in the nation's evolving transportation landscape, these employers are better able to recruit and retain talent, save on overhead costs, and be more environmentally sustainable."

Hacienda has been repeatedly recognized under the Best Workplaces for Commuters program as a Best Site. Locations so designated must provide a suite of commuting benefits to a specific area and collection of businesses. "Easing the commutes of our employees and residents is a fundamental goal of the suite of services that we provide," noted James Paxson, Hacienda's general manager. "We are grateful for the honor and are pleased that our programs have consistently received high ratings under this recognition since its inception by the Environmental Protection Agency over a decade ago. More importantly, however, our programs receive high ratings from the employees and residents who use them on a regular basis. We continue to believe that Hacienda is fundamentally a better place to work and live because of what we offer." Beyond the recognition awarded to Hacienda as a place, Hacienda's Best Workplaces for Commuters Site designation also means that the Best Workplaces for Commuters Employer recognition can be afforded to any of the park's 675 businesses, simply by virtue of their location in the park, once they sign up for the program.

The Best Workplaces for Commuters program offers designated organizations access to a range of support services to assess and promote non-driving commuting of employees, including organizational assessment and implementation tool-kits, web-based tools and webinars, staff training, and information exchange. "The companies on this list understand the importance and impact commuter benefits have on their employees and the value they bring to the environment," said Bond. "Excellent commuter benefit programs may reward these companies not just with a national designation, but buoys workplace productivity, customer loyalty and brand recognition in an increasingly competitive marketplace."
