PLEASANTON, Calif. — Hacienda Helping Hands, Hacienda's community engagement initiative, is challenging its businesses to make a difference in the region through participation in its annual fundraising campaign in support of the new Tri-Valley Nonprofit Fund. Hacienda's owners, investors, tenants and other affiliates are joining in local efforts to address critical needs in the Tri-Valley.

For nearly two years, the region has witnessed an unprecedented demand on local organizations that perform invaluable services for those in need in the Tri-Valley. The campaign is asking those within Hacienda, along with others in the region, to offer a "hand" in support of these social service organizations and others that are central to the fabric of the community.

The Tri-Valley Nonprofit Fund was created by the Tri-Valley Nonprofit Alliance (TVNPA) in March 2020 as a rallying effort to provide financial support where it was needed during the pandemic. In consultation with regional cities, community leaders, and 211 Referral Services, TVNPA identified the six safety-net service providers as the initial beneficiaries for the Tri-Valley Nonprofit Fund: Axis Community Health; CityServe of the Tri-Valley; Open Heart Kitchen; Senior Support Services of the Tri-Valley; Spectrum Community Health for "Meals on Wheels"; and Tri-Valley Haven.

Using a matching funds model and multiple distribution schedule to facilitate a rapid response, the Tri-Valley Nonprofit Fund succeeded in raising $183,000, distributing $30,000 to each of the beneficiaries and thus demonstrating the value of unrestricted funding to provide immediate relief with measurable results.

Through the Tri-Valley Nonprofit Fund Grant Program, unrestricted funding will be made available to all 501(c)3 nonprofits serving the Tri-Valley. Based on the same matching funds and rapid response model, each dollar received will double in value and grants will be awarded quarterly. Their tag line says it all: "Immediate Impact - Measurable Results."

The Tri-Valley Nonprofit Fund aligns well with the mission of Hacienda Helping Hands to support six key philanthropic areas: youth development and education, family strengthening, senior assistance, access to healthcare and healthy living, affordable housing and solutions to homelessness, and arts and culture. Contributing to the Tri-Valley Nonprofit Fund covers all of these philanthropic areas and more.

Through Hacienda Helping Hands, thousands of dollars have been distributed over the past decade to benefit organizations serving these causes. This year, Hacienda is encouraging people to contribute to the Tri-Valley Nonprofit Fund in whatever way is possible: as an individual donor, corporate donor, or by becoming a matching funds partner. Donations are tax deductible. To learn more and donate, go directly to www.tvnpa.org/tvnf or contact TVNPA CEO Kathy Young at Kathy@tvnpa.org
