PLEASANTON, Calif. — Hacienda recently installed its annual salute to Flag Day and the Fourth of July on Friday, June 11, 2021. Now in its eighth year, the installation was once again conducted by long-standing Pleasanton business, T. Marshall Associates, Ltd., who has performed this work for Hacienda since its inception.

Each year, Hacienda mounts three-foot by five-foot flags from the lampposts along Hacienda Drive from I-580 to W. Las Positas Boulevard, and on Stoneridge Drive from Hopyard Road to Santa Rita Road. A total of 50 flags, one for each state, are installed just prior to Flag Day, June 14th, and proudly displayed through mid-July. Inspired by then-freshman and Pleasanton resident Amanda McKenzie in 2013, the idea for the flag display throughout Hacienda was a project developed as part of her Girl Scout Gold Award. Eight years later, Amanda McKenzie's Gold Award project remains a Hacienda tradition.
