PLEASANTON, Calif. — Hacienda Helping Hands, Hacienda's community engagement initiative, is challenging its businesses to make a difference in the region through participation in two worthwhile community initiatives: the Tri-Valley Nonprofit Alliance Tri-Valley Fund and Three Valleys Community Foundation Power of Collaboration. Hacienda's owners, investors, tenants and other affiliates are joining in local efforts to address critical needs in the Tri-Valley.

While the Tri-Valley enjoys a tremendous level of prosperity, the region has witnessed an unprecedented demand on local organizations that perform invaluable services for those in need. Hacienda Helping Hands' campaign is asking its affiliates and the community at large to offer a "hand" in support of both of these efforts.

The Tri-Valley Nonprofit Alliance's (TVNPA) Tri-Valley Nonprofit Fund began as a campaign to support six safety net service providers scaling to meet increasing needs during and following Covid 19-related lockdown in 2020 and 2021. Hacienda Helping Hands was a matching partner for that campaign, which raised $183,000 that directly benefited those six beneficiaries. In 2022, TVNPA expanded the Tri-Valley Nonprofit Fund by creating an annual grant program, open to all 501(c)3 nonprofits serving the Tri-Valley. The grant program also involves a matching funds component and supports emerging and established nonprofits with unrestricted grant awards made quarterly. To date, the grant program has benefitted over 30 nonprofit organizations!

Their tag line says it all: "Immediate Impact - Measurable Results." This year, we ask you to contribute to the Tri-Valley Nonprofit Fund in whatever way is possible: as an individual donor, corporate donor, or by becoming a matching funds partner. Donations are tax deductible. To learn more and donate, go directly to: www.tvnpa.org/tvnf.

Thanks to a generous lead gift by Amazon, the Three Valleys Community Foundation (3VCF) has created a unique opportunity that will launch the creation of their first grant-making fund to target key community issues and strengthen 3VCF as a philanthropic and geographic anchor. Hacienda affiliates are invited to join 3VCF to bring the collaborative power of our local corporations together to support community causes and local needs. With every gift received, 3VCF will set aside 50 percent for the Power of Collaboration Campaign – with grantmaking designed to address some of the most compelling and complex issues in our area. Their goal?  To provide $500,000 to local nonprofits via grantmaking in 2023.

The Power of Collaboration Campaign will focus on the community causes central to the vitality of our region – areas like food insecurity, homelessness and housing affordability, education, health and human services and the arts. It will also supplement many of the individual commitments made by local donors in the region who are interested in giving, granting, and growing our community. 3VCF uses guiding principles that center around trust, transparency, and a Tri-Valley focus (Alamo, Danville, Dublin, Livermore, Pleasanton, San Ramon and Sunol). They believe in the power of three – and what can be accomplished when all in the Three Valleys (Amador, Livermore and San Ramon) work together – further strengthening our overall impact. The Tri-Valley Nonprofit Fund and Three Valleys Community Foundation Corporate Challenge align well with the mission of Hacienda Helping Hands to support six key philanthropic areas: youth development and education, family strengthening, senior assistance, access to healthcare and healthy living, affordable housing and solutions to homelessness, and arts and culture. Contributing to these initiatives covers all of these philanthropic areas and more.

As the region looks forward to 2023, Hacienda hopes everyone will continue to support these special efforts. Over the years, the alliance formed between Hacienda's owners, investors, businesses and affiliates, and the community at large have been a powerful way of making a real difference, enhancing the vibrant quality of life for everyone in the region.
