Locally, a total of $65 million worth of freeway improvements were completed near Hacienda by the end of 1991. Hacienda is directly served by three freeway intersections off I-580, and one off nearby I-680, giving it the best freeway access of any business center in the Bay Area. Furthermore, Hacienda is criss-crossed by an efficient network of four-and six-lane arterial roadways. The arterials were purposely overbuilt to accommodate today's traffic needs, allowing for many years of uncongested movement.

Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART), one of the nation's premier mass transit systems, has built a station at Hacienda. With trains arriving at the BART station at Hacienda every 15 minutes during commute hours, employers at Hacienda have access to labor pools well beyond the traditional 30-minute automobile commute. These trains are augmented by over a half-dozen other transit services which interconnect with BART at the Hacienda station; meaning a variety of regional transit services are available to Hacienda businesses as a means of increasing their connection with the region.
