Employers Sought for April 24 Valley Teen Job and Community Service Fair

The City of Pleasanton is partnering with the City of San Ramon and the Dublin/San Ramon Women's Club to present this year's Teen Job and Community Service Fair, to be held Saturday, April 24 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at the San Ramon Senior Center, 9300 Alcosta Boulevard, in San Ramon.

The event will offer a host of opportunities for teens aged 14-19, who will be able to meet with employers, apply for jobs, explore career options, network, and more.

"The City of Pleasanton is committed to its youth and providing employment opportunities is one of the goals of the Youth Master Plan Implementation Committee," explains Hiram Berhel, youth services supervisor.

Teens will be able to receive a skills analysis at the event, helping them to identify personal strengths. Mock interviews will also be conducted, giving job applicants a chance to hone their skills in that important area. Tips on resume writing will also be offered.

The event is also an opportunity for local employers to fill summer staffing needs. Community service organizations are also invited to attend to present information on volunteer opportunities, which provide teens with valuable work experience.
