EBS - On the Job Helping Employers Help Employees

From its headquarters at 5934 Gibraltar Drive, Suite 206, Employee Benefit Specialists (EBS) provides benefits administration, communications services and top-rated benefit programs to a wide variety of companies throughout the United States, from small businesses to large national corporations, including municipal clients.

"EBS uses a unique mix-and-match approach that permits clients to pick and choose the services that meet their individual needs," says the company's founder, Joan Rhodes. "That way they can efficiently allocate financial resources and improve their business processes.

"Since the late 1980s, we've been enrolling employees in core and voluntary benefits. Our services include benefit enrollment and communication, benefit administration, payroll deduction/voluntary products and services, online enrollment and flexible spending accounts." EBS administers such benefits as Flexible Benefit Plans (FSA), Transit Benefit Plans, Flexible Benefit/Transit Program Debit Cards, COBRA and Retiree Benefit Plans. In addition, the company provides a wide range of payroll deduction and voluntary products and services, which include insurance programs covering life, short-term disability, accident, cancer, heart and stroke, long-term care, pets, legal, and auto and home owners insurance. Also included are carrier application and policy services.

The EBS Member Center is an online resource where benefit plan participants can download forms for claims and direct deposits, get answers to common questions, and access other helpful links to information including account balances for Flexible Spending and Commuter Plans.

With years of experience in on-site, call center, IVR, and group meeting environments behind it, EBS added on-line enrollment and eligibility tracking services in late 2002. Today, the company provides a robust web-based, fully-configurable enrollment system. The system allows employers to manage and control the selection and communication of benefits 24-hours a day, seven days a week. The online enrollment system can also be configured to work in conjunction with other EBS enrollment solutions, including the call center and onsite benefit counselors, further enhancing EBS' enrollment service.

"We are proud to announce a new online system, developed and designed by EBS," adds Rhodes. "The system, called Workterra, is being used by many clients throughout the country. It utilizes the latest technology to bring together online enrollment, decision support, human resources, and payroll into one application.

"Our innovative architecture allows us to deliver more functionality and greater customization at a much lower cost. Workterra is the single-source for clients' human resources, employee benefits, and financial services needs."

EBS' proven service history has allowed the company to expand both its service and product menus as the needs of its clients have required. The company is consistently developing and implementing new products and services and will assist new and existing clients in the planning and execution of any additional services within its area of expertise.
