  • Get Organized with Visioneer Mobile Device

Keep your documents and files organized while you are on the road with the new Mobile Organizer by Hacienda-based Visioneer.

The Mobile Organizer easily digitizes and organizes documents when you are out of the office. The handy little device scans contracts, receipts, business cards, invoices, magazine articles, documents and photos.

It is small enough to fit in any laptop bag and is powered through a USB port. That means one less cable to keep track of and no need to search for a power source.

The Mobile Organizer weighs roughly 12 ounces and is the size of a rolled-up magazine. It can scan small documents and larger documents up to 8.5 inches by 14 inches. Images may be scanned in either color or black-and-white.

Every image comes out crystal clear, thanks to Visioneer Acuity image enhancement technology. The device produces perfect scans, even from imperfect originals.

The organizer comes with software to help organize scanned images, continuous cloud backup service to avoid file loss and permit access from any computer, tools to share documents and guidelines for creating digital files.

  • Waters Introduces New Line of Equipment

Waters Corporation recently introduced a new line of CORTECS columns that set a new standard for high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) column performance.

The 2.7-micron silica-based, solid-core particle columns are used in conjunction with the laboratory equipment made by Waters. The columns are consumables, meaning they can be used a few hundred or thousand times before needing to be replaced.

The columns separate ingredients to provide an accurate concentration of each ingredient in a product, such as a pharmaceutical, food or beverage.

"With the introduction of CORTECS 2.7 micron Columns, Waters now gives chromatographic laboratories the ability to improve the resolution, speed, and sensitivity of their HPLC separations," Michael Yelle, vice president of the consumables business unit, said.

Waters is one of the largest manufacturers of laboratory equipment for scientific labs. The company's largest market is the pharmaceutical industry, but any industry that needs precise product ingredients might use Waters equipment.

The company is based outside Boston in Milford, Massachusetts, with district headquarters in Hacienda. The local office includes a demonstration lab.
