  • Oracle Releases Tools for Big Data

Oracle has released a variety of big data solutions that simplify information access and discovery, enabling customers to turn raw data into usable information quickly. Oracle Big Data Discovery, Oracle GoldenGate for Big Data, Oracle Big Data SQL 1.1, and Oracle NoSQL Database 3.2.5 further Oracle's vision to enable Hadoop, NoSQL, and SQL technologies to work together and be deployed securely in any model—whether public cloud, private cloud or an on-premises infrastructure.

“Data is a new kind of capital and enterprises must invest their data capital strategically to create the best return,” said Neil Mendelson, vice president of big data at Oracle. “Oracle gives customers an integrated platform that helps simplify access to all their data, discover new insights, predict outcomes in real time, and keep all their data governed and secure.”

“For the third year in a row we’ve seen tremendous growth and results,” said ThinkHR founder and CEO Pete Yozzo. “In 2014, we invested significantly in expanding and enhancing our technology, but we didn’t lose sight of the human experience that has made us special all along. As a result, we are seeing… the potential for faster growth in 2015 as our market reach widens.”

Xerox has released the DocuMate 5540 , a uniquely designed document scanner that combines a flatbed and sheetfed scanner in one unit. The DocuMate 5540 also includes a 70-page automatic document feeder (ADF). The device is engineered to scan nearly anything in the modern office and securely file it away digitally until it is needed. “The DocuMate 5540 is now our premier mid-level ADF/flatbed combination model positioned directly between the DocuMate 4830 and DocuMate 3220 in both pricing and specifications,” said Jon Harju, chief technology officer at Visioneer, a Xerox licensing partner which is based in Hacienda. “Intended for department and workgroup users who need to scan a high number of assorted document types and media, it offers a truly versatile and robust option for those customers requiring a straight paper path, legal size flatbed, low maintenance and excellent paper handling.”
